About us

Midsummer AB is a Swedish privately owned company founded in 2004. Our business idea is to make thin film CIGS solar cells on small substrates that can be used for conventional module manufacturing. We base our products on our own proprietary R&D results in combination with proven mass manufacturing solutions adapted for solar cell manufacturing.

The founders and key employees have long industrial experience from the optical disc and FPD photo mask industry. We have some of the most experienced CIGS researchers in Scandinavia leading our R&D work.

Midsummer has been the coordinator of a successfully completed EU project called HIGHSPEEDCIGS. Midsummer has also received grants from the Swedish Energy Agency to further develop the technology.
